Clay came late into my life, bringing me unexpected joy. In a studio surrounded by Arbutus Trees, I wheel-throw each piece in porcelain/stoneware. I revel in the smoothness of clay, the magic of shaping a form under my hands.  ‘Chattering’, a technique originating in China’s Sung Dynasty, creates vertical grooves in the clay, revealing hidden tones in the glaze. Dipping the rim in a contrasting colour creates a soft blending that echoes the hues of a Salt Spring summer –blue of ocean, white of clouds, green of leaves. I hope my pots bring joy to your everyday pleasures - a cup of tea, a bowl of cereal, a jug of milk.
