Patricia Gibson

I have collected pots for many years, and enjoy being surrounded by them. My first exposure to hand made pots was in my Maternal Grandmother’s light-filled studio. She was a down-to-earth woman, who appreciated the earthiness of clay. As it turns out, clay inspires me, too. I love its fascinating history, its fragility and strength, and its versatility, both in function and as a canvas for creativity. I throw on the wheel, and fire in an electric kiln. I use glazes of my own making. I love the play of glaze-making and tinker endlessly, always looking for something new. I hope my pots will be in everyday use, bringing pleasure to everyday routine.
