  • June 1st, 2012  9 am   Raku Firing with Diane Kray at Long Harbour Bed and Breakfast.
Bring up to 5  small to medium sized pieces which have been bisqued to fire, raku glazes to share, recipes, gloves and tongs if you have them and a pot luck dish to share. If you can use raku clay or good low fire grog clay it is best, however B mix for example will fire okay through a raku firing process too. Pieces should be as uniform in thickness throughout the pot as possible as thin areas and weaknesses in the clay create vulnerabilities for cracking in the raku firing process. We will be firing in Ken Bennett’s old kiln as Dianne purchased it. So, in celebration of Ken’s spirit and all he did for the guild, please come and join in. Host: Diane Kray 120 Little Mountain Road
